Strut Braces

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I was looking at the AAT website, and strut braces look like a modestly priced alteration that should improve handling of the car (especially with the Octy being a bit "rolly" into the corners). Has anyone else fitted these? Is there a definate improvement? How involved is the installation for the layman?

Don't think they'll get rid of all your roll I'm afraid :( They improve feel and tautness for sure, not convinced about much roll though.

So to get the most benefit, I'm assuming I'd have to do a whole suspension job. Probably beyond my means at the moment...

Thanks for the info.

Rob

You may want to consider replaceing the anti roll bars to strong/thicker ones.

Jon also mentioned replacing the anti-roll bar bushes for some proflex ones. Ulitmately it's got to the suspension though.

I have one of the AAT upper and lower strut braces, but I haven't fiited them yet too lazy. But I am hoping when I get round to fitting them there will be a marked improvement road handling?

Lloyd

Handling should feel better on turn in and through corners for sure. you should feel more connected to the car as a whole.

Was looking over(under) an S3 in our workshop today -- engine bay and front suspension very similar to vRS -- and is fitted with upper & lower braces --- further investigation to follow me thinks....
