Alright guys my steering been playing up for a while now constantly veering to the left.

My brakes have also been pretty dodgy the car seems to brake to a certain extent and then (how I can only explain it) seems to 'roll' out I get a prolonged judder and the pedal will dip a lot further it's quite dangerous at times.

I was driving home the other night in stop start traffic when I braked and I heard a large thud and it felt although something dropped from the O/S of the car, the steering then became ridiculously light and would pretty much spin to full lock when I let go.

I was only a minute away from my house so I trooped it home and got out to have a look and the Tyre was completely shredded and the rim was flush to the floor, I tried jacking the car up to get the wheel off so I could take a look behind it and the rim stayed flush to the floor.

I can jack it up over a foot and the rim just does not move off the ground and the gap between the arch and the rim grows to about 2 foot

Any ideas guys?

I'm useless when it comes to cars.

Sounds like the suspension has come off either at the top or bottom by what you explain when jacking it up.
