Alarm siren - yet another question

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I replaced my non-working siren on my 2006 Octavia L & K following the excellent advice on BRISKODA forums; using a 1K0951605C unit puchased second hand off Ebay. This was easy to do and felt chuffed when I heard the resulting 'chirp' after completion.

On testing, all is well for detecting interior movement but when I rock the locked car or attempt to gain entry when locked there is no sound.

Any ideas folks?

Did I buy a bit of a duff unit off Ebay?

Thanks.

I had one off ebay which works ok. I took the old one apart and found the battery had leaked and rotted the circuit board.

Is it meant to detect movement like rocking ?. there didnt seem to be anything inside like a movement switch.

If you double lock it with the key fob it switches off the alarm , if it is locked with one press of the fob the alarm is set.

You probally know the way to test is lock with one press then try to open with the key in the lock and wait ,dont put the key in the ignition, the alarm should go off after 10? 20 ?secs.
