door handle help arghh

Featured Replies

Does the black prong/lever inside the hole, that moves push against door handle go inside the prongs or push against it?

The door handle now won't sit flush against thre body work, followed the guide on here.

They go behind the spring loaded part in the door. I used some wire and stripped the plastic off, then hooked it round the sprung part in the door, then put the handle back in whilst pulling the sprung part towards me then pulled the wire out. Job done.

Thanks for the reply, what I mean is whilst looking in the hole without the lock mechanism or handle in, there is a black lever that seems to move that sits to the side of the Bowden cable. Now on the removed door handle itself there is a black head on one side that pushes against this lever, this where I'm confused. Does the head on the door handle just sit flush against this lever or does it sit behind it so it locks in so to speak?

as said, sits behind it ie towards the inside of the car
