As we are getting more and more popular with the continued success of the Fabia vRS.. i thought its about time we had a official frequently asked questions section.

so, post any questions you think should go into this article in this thread:

i intend to split it into several sections..

Interior styling (things like cupholders, hints and tips on instrument operation)

Exterior styling (bulb upgrades, debadging etc)

Engine (remaps, air filters, exhausts, pd160 intake etc)

Braking (pads, 312mm conversions, fluid , brembos)

Handling (strutbraces, arbs, springs etc)

ICE (uprated headunit, speakers, carkits, tomtom)

If theres any other sections you think would be benificial, please tell me..

also if you would like to contribute by writing any articles for it.. please PM me with the details.. you will get full credit for your work, and immortalised in the briskoda revolution

I think some of my posts can contribute to the ICE section :P Having said that, there are already some excellent official DIY-type posts made by others for ICE

Good idea - and something my stalled website - www.FabiavRS.info - was/is going to cover... I've already taken some pictures in preparation though they're lodged at a temporary site at present. I was hoping to make it more comprehensive than my other two vehicle websites at www.MazdaMX5.info and www.LandRoverFreelander.info both of which have stalled too...

I note most (all?) of the issues you've suggested come under the heading of "Modifications"

I think you need a "How to Interpret the Handbook" section to cover standard things such as "The Key to Skoda's Unnecessarily Complicated Servicing Schedule" - if someone can come up with a suitable explanation, "What are the Tyre Pressures recommended", "How to change a Bulb" - even if you've got xenons, "The supposed dangers of Battery Disconnection" - and the possible havoc it causes, "How to take the Door Panels off", etc.

You also seem to have missed "Wheels and Tyres" out of your list.

This will of course all change at Christmas and the octyRS/fabiaRS disussions will go into reverse

Oil under the engine qu's seems to be often discussed.Also the 'true' real world mpg seems a popular question

Might also want a section on Fabia vRS vs Cooper (S) and links to other TV appearances and videos?

A 'mod - ease of fitting (and maybe cost for garage fit) - benefits - cost to do - cost for insurance' table might also be useful so people can ascertain what's worthwhile if on a budget.

How about a section for 'non official' recalls ? i.e. fixes the dealers will only admit to if you already know about them.

Oil Colin, People always ask about Oil!!

Parking sensors, Cruise Control, unofficial towbar, mudflaps.

Useful part numbers.

Part numbers and a critical appraisal of each mod ... ie is it any good, what are the benefits and is it worthwhile doing it.

How about a "did you know" section for the problems/quirks of the Fabia vRS......

The wipers dont work if you leave the bonnet open.

Locking the car & closing windows by turning and holding key in lock etc etc

Definately agree on part numbers bit. Things I can think of are:

-fold out cup holders

-plastic cover for the gap left above the HU when a normal DIN sized one is fitted (Ross mentioned that a few days ago)

-mud flaps

-headlamp protectors

-proper RHD-designed front carpets for early 53 plate cars with the wrong mats (like mine, still )

-tow bar parts

-ibiza cupra 160 air intake bits that old favourite

I haven't got number for the HU adaptor, tried searching yesterday without success.

The numbers I've put up for the mats are the later ones.

If anyone thinks any other part numbers should be on let me know and I'll try and sort it.

I seem to be having the same problem as you Em, have been trying to find the "how to fit seat strut brace" guide and all i can see is a discussion on it. Have tried using the search for "fabia faq's" and for "seat sport strut brace" and still no luck. Maybe we're missing something really obvious:confused:
