Skoda octavia 2 problems ?

Featured Replies

I purchased a 2006 Octavia 2.0 l diesel 140 bhp and had a new turbo fitted under warranty. When accelerating hard I consider there to be excessive smoke. It was the same before turbo replacement. I know this is normal for diesel cars but I had to pull away a bit rapid last night and noticed it very smoky behind. I had been driving from cold for 10 minutes or so. Also there is an intermittent ticking noise from the glove box area. A kind of tick, tick, tick about 6 then fine then it happens intermittently. Any advise on either would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Graham and welcome along

Can't help with your query but I'm sure there'll soon be someone along that can

Hi Graham,

I have a 54 plate 140 TDi Octavia (owned it from 1 year old) and find that you can get quite a bit of smoke if you accelerate hard. It looks worse at night in the lights of the car behind! Mine has always got throught MOT with good smoke values. If your concerned get the smoke measured at a garage.

I also get the ticking some times. I questioned the dealer after I bought the car. They had a look and said it was the system adjusting the direction of the air - I have an elegence with climate control. Some times it does annoy me but then I don't hear it for a long time - it comes and goes!
