FIXED! Reset Service Message.

Hope the moderators don't mind me starting yet another thread.

I have finally reset the service flag on my Fabia Greenline 11 Diesel. Yippee! Over the last week one or two have made valid suggestion. Thanks especially to the guy who suggested I use the correct lead. I have been using an OBD 11 cable and though good quality it has turned out we need a dedicated VAG lead. Looks just like OBD11 but now the computer program recognizes the interface with the car! I used the VCDS version 11.11.4 software from the Ross Tech site, connected the lead to car and computer and switched ignition on, no need to start the car. It turned out my son had a VAG cable from his Audi days.

When opening the program follow the on screen commands to open the package. Several options are on the screen but go to the flag in the top left hand corner >select>17 instruments>adaptation>channel>select resetting esi>new value>reset>do it! ..

While I was at it, I checked all for fault codes and found none so can now fully validate with Skoda my last DIY service.

Can't tell you how elated I am simply to outsmart the buggas but hope you can find some interest and use in my findings.
