Hi people. Got hold of some 16" wheels from a Mk1 L&K Octavia, part number 1U06010250. Numbers on the back are 6.5J X 16H2, the ET 42. They'll be fitted with 205/45/16s, I just wanted to confirm that these wheels with these tyres will go straight on with no need for spacers or anything else. Secondly, if anyone knows what they're called, that'd be great. They're made I believe by WSS in Germany. Hopefully WSS doesn't stand for Waffen S-S

Test boltage onnage! The tyres in the pic are 55's but will be changed for 45's I think they look ok.

I'm thinking changing them to correct the speedo and add a little MPG through better gearing but obviously with only 64hp can go too mad or it'll go nowhere!

I change my astra tyres (left the alloys the same) from 60's to 65's (same size otherwise) and my speedo now reads spot on according to the satnav.

all general speedos are designed to read around 2-3mph faster than actual speed its so that car companies can cover their own backs when someone trys to say that when they get caught speeding their speedo is reading slower than actual, if it is ever to go slightly out theres more chance for it to go to actual rather than going from actual to reading slow. little bit of trivia there for you
