Reversing sensors

Featured Replies

I've bought a set of Fabia reversing sensors brand new off ebay for

That's a ludicrous price to pay for fitting the sensors, does your local dealer wear a mask and call himself **** Turpin?

Anyway, yes they are pretty easy to fit we (VRStu and myself) did the job to my VRS over the last bank holiday weekend. All you really need is a good 20mm body drill bit and some reasonable tools, pliers, philips etc. We do have some pictures which we can post up as the 'how to' is not ready yet. The only word of warning that i would give is don't completely try and remove the 'B' pillar trim in order to mount the speaker and definately not from the top! Ease it back each side from the bottom, if you try from the top it will probably crack.

I have to say though that if you bought from Ebay and it's the same guy we bought ours from he's getting greedy!

I'm doing this jobbie on an estate, well I WILL be ... I don't pick the car up until Saturday!

I will have my digital camera handy and post something once I've finished.

Thanks for the advice.

these are nice and easy to fit, on the non vrs models the hole positions are already pre moulded behind the black rub strip so no measuring required etc (either the 4 sensor or 3 sensor)

madman, how do you pre-moulded? Are they already cut and you just need to cut the rubbing strip? I ask as I have some on their way and I have a non-vRS.

i should have taken some pics

what i mean by pre moulded, is that where the holes need to go there are already impressions moulded into the bumper where the sensors go. there is 5 in total so depending on how many sensors the kit has 3 or 4, the sensor positions are already there. just need the 20mm hole saw to cut them out and then cut into the black rub strip once your happy that you have it all lined up

Excellent news, thankyou.

those pictures arent quite the same as what im talking but kinda similar it will be very obvious when you take it all off,

the best thing to do is just take off the black rub strip without removing the bumper just ease off with a screw driver without scratching everything :D, very easy to do and you will soon figure it out

Hey Stu he don't like our pics! Can't please everyone i suppose!

hehe the pics are fine, but the imprints are on the front part of the bumper under the rubber strip so cant really be seen from behind the bumper :P
