I've thrown in the white towel and gone for some Phillips X-treme power bulbs. I've done the ebay HIDs thing before and its easier on older cars. All this coding/canbus/non canbus is hassle unless you have the know how and have VCDS.

I'll let you know how i get on. It's not to say i won't go the HID route in the future. If someone can get a canbus set without coding that works i'll get them and put the Phillips bulbs in the main beam.

My Tech guy said he sees no reason why a Canbus set would not be plug and play.

The main reason I followed up and fitted the non canbus was defiance and I already had them bought :)

It's just all the if's and maybe's. I'd be more assured if someone with a 2012 (especially a Blackline) could say they've been fitted and all ok.

Fitted the osram tonight just not had chance to try them yet ill report back when I do

The difference with the Philips (sure Osram as good) is night and day compared to stock bulbs. Illuminate whiter, brighter and much further. Not bad for a small outlay. Would still prefer HIDS though.

Yep same with the osrams made a huge difference if I hear of plug and play hids without problems ill buy some but these are more than doing the job for now

Right so you guys are saying buy noncanbus ones and get it coded?

Anyone nearish me knows what they're doing and can code mine?

The problem here is later cars (LE and FL onwards) have a BCM controller - this does not have the option of ‘xenon’s without shutters’

If I were you, I would shell out on some decent HID's. Like the ones in my signature. Awesome quality and performance :sun:
