Engine management light on

Featured Replies

Considering ex-fleet Octavia at auction. Engine mgt light on. I know this could be any manor of problems, big or small.

What's most likely on 2.0 PDI?. Maybe there are more common faults than others. Read about Turbo vanes when did a search of forum.

Thanks for any help or advice

Anyone ?

Assuming its the non-DPF PD140 engine then I think turbo vanes sticking & causing overboost would be the most likely (and most expensive) cause. Perhaps best to assume its that and be pleasantly surprised if its anything easier/cheaper! Not much else seems to go wrong on these engines, but the turbo is a common issue.

Thanks very much nick74. Thats a good ballpark to factor in some possible costs.
