On my octy vrs black line on my trip computer it has option for oil temp but on mine it always reads three dashes, my dad has exact same car but his always has a reading on it. Does any body know why? The dealer says its because its on a fixed servicing schedule so it wont. Can any body tell if this is true. Thankyou.

Dealer's is actually right, however,there is a way to get it to show when it's on fixed but the dealer needs to know that it needs coding to do so. My local dealer is as obstructive as yours sounds. When my car goes in for it's 2nd paid for service I'll ask them again only this time I'll take it to the other branch.
