A little love for my car

Featured Replies

I bought my Octavia vRS at the end of July and since I've got it, I've done just over 5000 miles in it, it's had a trip down to Alton Towers and around the midlands for a few days, a briskoda mini run out in September, various days away and a trip to a killers concert that got canceled after 4 songs :( there isn't really an awful lot of point to this thread to be honest other than how much I'm enjoying the car. It's a lot more comfy over a distance than my old Fabia vRS and it's a million miles better than my Leon FR, god that had a hard ride! Mines got the factory fit Columbus Nav in and it's a great piece of kit, used it all the time to get me around, it wasn't something I was looking for when I bought my tbh, I would rather have had Xenon's but I'm pleased I've got it. I think, and I'm not sure it I think mines had the DPF taken out and had a remap so as a bonus it's a bit more nippy than I was expecting coming down from my 2.0tfsi but to me it feels just as quick, maybe a little bit more eager going through the gears with all the extra torque. The main thing I'm pleased with really is fuel consumption, way back from Manchester to Carlisle on the motorway, not really driving for economy but it still managed 51.2 on the trip computer, I know these are a little bit out but even still I'm happy. As I said before, there ain't really much point in this other than to say how happy I am with my car, I know forums sometimes always just end up highlighting problems with cars just by there nature so wanted to share my good experience with some fellow briskodians. Thanks for reading!

I frequent several forums (fori?) covering several different manufacturers and a forum for a vehicle will, by its nature attract a lot of threads and comments that are either negative or enquiring about problems and faults - the majority of people will be happily driving around day by day in their car with no faults or issues and won't have any reason to post about it because things are behaving just as they should do.

I'm pleased to hear that you are fully enjoying your vRS, I'm looking forward to actually getting to use mine but it's now been off the road at the dealer for almost 2 weeks (it's only 3 weeks old) which is a shame because as a whole package I think it is hard to beat.

Nice to read a thread about somebody enjoying their car! :-)

Great to hear!

Yeah I can see how that would be for you. Coming from a Leon FR it feels like driving on a cloud to me.

Chappers this is what I was after. To someone looking on the forum who doesn't have one, all they might see is DPF and injector problems but that shouldn't put people off what is a great car
