Anyone had experience with 1.2 Fiats?

Featured Replies

Aye up..

My friends got issues with her 1.2 Active Punto (02)... If you know much of anything on these lil motors could ya give this a read please, as it doesn't sound quite like the common coil pack failure?

If ya not a member over there, then please reply on here.. you can read it with out signing up, though.

Thanks in advance :)

Have you had the codes read?

Saw one the other week with oil starvation to the head, someone had fitted the head gasket the wrong way so that it blocked the oil ways, seemed to run ok for nearly a year.

Have you checked the crank & cam sensors and wiring, also the plug leads.

Fiats seem to be like the lottery. If you're lucky you'll get one that'll give next to no trouble for years and years. If you're unlucky it'll turn to a heap of sparking rusty crap within a couple of weeks of purchase.

I've a mate with a Punto 1.2 he's had since new. 10 years on it still runs fine and he's had next to no bother at all with it.

Ours seems to prefer super unleaded. It runs a bit rougher on regular.

Have you tried a tankful of that? It may give things a clean up at least.
