ash tray illumination issue

Featured Replies

hey up guys and gals

my occy cig lighter isn't illuminating ???? they blow bulbs as no fuses gone also the snap on torch that pushes into it is charging but not glowing blue like it usually does could this be becuase i've wire my oil temp gauge illumination to the back of the light switch??? had to use a resistor too so wondered if it could be stopping or draining power????

I did a bit of a bodge job by taking power from the light here too.

I ended up actually burning out the instrument illumination dimmer rolling switch. The lighting is one very big circuit and includes that ring around it the cigarette lighter. it is a separate power supply than the actual socket power so doesn't really say anything that it is still charging but if it is the only interior light gone then it's likely to be just a bulb.

I don't think mine have ever lit up.... :-( Is this a vrs feature that my 2001 Elegance is missing?

To the OP, I would undo your wiring and see if the car returns to normal. Not quite sure what wiring you did, so can't quite comment on what the resistor might be affecting.
