Budget Mobile phone

Featured Replies

I gotta get my daughter a new mobile for christmas

seen the huawei g300 seems decent for about £110 but do any of you know of something as good or better for a similar budget !!

Contract might be a better option, especially as many tariffs include unlimited texts, and that's all they ever seem to do with them.

I sometimes wonder what would happen if you tried to sell a text only phone - no speaker or microphone.

As good as a g300?

Motorola Defy.

Harder wearing than a g300, can be picked up for around the same price, and has pretty much the same features.

Also if you're not a technophobe both can be upgraded to CyanogenMod 10 which means the latest and greatest Android stuffs :)

Aren't they called a 'pager' and died out in the early 90's, save for hospitals?

LG Optimus l3 unlocked £70-80

A pager could only receive, not send, and the text was very basic - none at all on some models - such as the one I had to carry around 24/7.

My work still uses pagers when on call! Flashes a number to phone lol
