Locking wheel nut "Key"

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Just popped the winter wheels back on the car (So we are guarentted good weather for the next few months. haha).

The wheel nut has started to slip when trying to undo the nuts. I managed to get the last two nuts of with assistance, but it would be really tricky to do on my own.

It seems the metal the key part is made from is very soft, so after 8 uses, it doesnt want to play any more.

Is this a warrenty issue?

Can I just but a new key part from Skoda, or do a need a new set of nuts as well?

Its due for a service soon, so I wll wait till then, but hopefully I wony need to change a wheel before then!

Cheers

I will speak up at the next service...

Yeah get rid of the locking nuts, they are a pain when they fail especially when you've got a puncture !
