MAF Sensor Help

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have recently bought my first Octavia 1.8T and i am working through a list of DTC's. The first one I'm trying to solve is fault 16486 MAF signal too low. I have run a log of block 002 on VCDS and the MAF is pulling 121gm/sec @ 6050rpm which seems fine for a 150bhp engine. However at idle the figure is ranging from 0.8 - 1.6gm/sec which seems much lower than the 4 - 5 gm/sec specified.

Before I spend out for a new MAF I was wondering if any one else had experienced a similar problem and how they overcame it, I can post a copy of the log if that helps.

Cheers

Stuart.

look at the vacuum pipes under inlet manifold

When mine was playing up it was at the top end, it was up and down like a whores drawers, fine on idle and low revs
