What's the biggest or strangest or coolest thing you've ever fit in your roomy?

... cos that's what it's for, right ?

I haven't had anything more exciting than a bicycle in mine - but give me a chance, I've only had it 3 weeks :) But we were quite excited that the high roof means the bicycles can go in upright !

Here's a link to a really old thread on the subject: -

I managed to carry a Slumberland double bed in mine (rear seats removed, of course)

I rolled the mattress lengthwise and tied it up, then fed it through the tailgate and over the reclined passenger seat.

The base of the bed came in two halves, which went in behind the driver's seat.

The headboard sat alongside the base units, as did the bedside cupboards.

Wish I'd taken pictures

I used mine to pick up all the home furniture I bought off ebay and gumtree when I moved here. Including a bunkbed with mattresses and a couch longer than 2 meters. Only thing I couldn't fit in it was a double divan bed - and even that would have fit with some creative folding in a pinch.

On a side note I saw a roomster yesterday with the bicolor foils - was an 08 plate so suspect it was an aftermarket job, but it definitely looked sporty. In real life looks even better than the pictures.

Assuming the title is to do with load carrying (can't see as on my phone)

I transported our new box freexer (about 100 l capacity), and it fit in upright position!

Maybe not as exciting for me, however, I have shifted all my son's student gear in one go from Sheffield to Manchester to Newcastle-dependent on his higher degree process. Seats out with the bike, guitar, amps, turntable, speakers, bedding and all the usual student paraphenalia (except girlfriend/s). I have to say we couldn't see much out of the rear window! As above, I wish I had taken a photograph. Fortunately he has bought himself a VW camper which can only just take his current stack of kit...

Nothing exciting, but it has been really handy for lots and lots of stuff. Loads of dump runs, one of which I remember did include an old ironing board which was stood upright. And a dump run to get rid of a tall fridge freezer.

Transporting flat pack furniture. One time when we wanted to buy a flat pack wardrobe, we realised that it wouldn't fit into hubbies Touareg (because of the electric front seats) but it would fit into my little Roomster!

Only thing we couldn't get in was a bookcase. It was just slightly too big. We didn't really have any space for it at home anyway, so I was a little bit relieved when it wouldn't fit in the car!

The Roomster also took us on a camping trip a few years back, packed to the rafters!

Just a super king size mattress, rolled up with ratchet straps and over a reclined front seat. The fun came at the tip when the attendant released the straps, he looked like he had been attacked by a self inflating liferaft.

IKEA furniture, just like pics in post #4 , mattresses, kids, uncles&aunts, and relatives of all sorts :giggle:

Don't own a Roomy but had one as a courtesy car earlier this year and was so seriously impressed that it is high on my list when the current Octavia is replaced.

Had SWMBO in with me. I will leave it to your own imaginations to decide into which of the categories "biggest, strangest, coolest" she fits :giggle:
