Fabia Smooth Rear Wiper

Featured Replies

hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a part number.

what I am after is the smooth rear wiper arm and blade bit from a fabia to convert the horrid looking oe fitted one on my mk3 ibiza,i think it will fit as you are probably aware the two cars share a lot of common parts.

does this style of rear wiper appear on all hatchback fabia's?

heres my car if you are unsure of what i'm trying to do:

If anyone can help or indeed more importanly know that they will fit it would be greatly appreciated.

Dan

Quite a common mod on MKIV golfs.

These are the three part numbers as found on www.uk-mkivs.net

6Y6955707 Arm

6Y0955435 Cap

6Y0955425 Blade

cheers for your quick response,

won't those be the part numbers for the octavia rear wiper though?

A few of the guys from over at www.seatcupra.net have done the same with there leons utilising the same bits as what the uk-mkivs golf lads are doing and that being the parts of the octavia!

Think i'm the guinea pig for this mod as a few others are wanting to know how I get on!

A confused,Dan

I just don't want to go into a skoda dealership and be fobbed off so to speak-when I say its for a ibiza cupra.

No, those are Fabia numbers .

The Octavia has a rather standard looking rear-wiper (until very recently), so I don't see why anyone would bother.

Check this topic http://www.uk-mkivs.net/forum/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=5405 at UK-MKIVs

I think the Ibiza might get a better fit than the Golf, the Fabia arm comes in a little short on the Golf.

cheers matey that has helped a lot.

Nice Beeza Deejay!

I'm interested in the Dynatwist induction kit and was wondering whether you periodically clean the MAF due to the filter being lightly oiled?

If so what do you use?

Many thanks.

Cheers.

Adrian.

I clean mine every 2-3k,but as green state this is usually only necessary every 5k miles and to use there cleaning/oil kit which is about

Yep, I'm after that subtle whoosh. :D

How about the MAF; do you clean this regularly as well?

Sorry for all the questions.

Cheers.

Adrian.

worries about the Maf-thought you may ask that.

Green filters in general are the most sensor friendly to VAG cars that I know of,basically steer clear of K&N like the plague as they are covered in goop from the start and can cause a lot of damage(ive seen this-not nice)

Although green filters are slightly oiled, they are a much drier type by comparison to others and should cause no sensor problems at all. What usually happens when a dealer diagnoses a Maf fault for a warrenty claim and someone has and aftermarket filter, the dealer will immediatly point to that as the cause when in essence the Maf is possibly the weakest link in an otherwise reliable car.

You can clean the Maf yourself with a very high concentrate alcohol solution which is obtainable from pharmacutical wholesale places.there is a "how to" thread on Vw vortex.

hope this helps-if your want anymore answers email Bill Brockbank @ Badger 5 as he has all the answers and indeed sells them.
