Second Remap?

Featured Replies

I had had my MK1 vRS remapped when the car was completely standard.

Since then I have removed the cat and added a larger intake with pipercross panel filter.

Would I see a difference with a different/altered map?

Probably not!

But then again your car isnt mapped for a decaf so chances are you could end up spinning the crappy stock turbo to pieces :o

So a custom remap is advised?

Not an expert in anyway here, but wouldn't your existing map adjust to these alterations? I wouldn't have thought you would need another map, and I would doubt you would see any extra BHP or torque (that would be noticeable/worthwhile).

i was like this tom, it depends if your gunna do anything else to it? mine was remapped on standard everything. i now have de cat panel filter fmic upgraded clutch etc. i'm plannin on muffle rectomy so not bothering until everythings done. but you wont push much more than you've got on a stock turbo. not that im wanting my turbo to go but when it does i'll be upgrading turbo :p then you'll see better gains like 190+ bhp.

The filter won't be such a change, but the decat's free-flowing properties will naturally bring about increases and a decat remap will maximize them :)
