Alright people new to the site here, iv had an octavia vrs estate 07 plate for around 6 months now and for the past few weeks iv had problems with the stereo

Happens most times im in the car whether it be through cd/radio/aux, it just suddenly cuts power to the head unit, even when the stereo is turned off the lights go off for a split second

When the music is on it makes a very loud bang/popping noise, has anyone else had this problem and if so what could it be? Thanks

My Columbus does this every so often and has done for a couple of years, I am guessing it is some kind of protection circuit in the unit, maybe a thermal cut out or something?

The Blaupunkt DAB54 in my Fabia vRS does this too & has done for years. It is annoying but I never got around to having it looked at as it happens so infrequently (once every couple of months or so at a guess) & I tend to forget about it between times...
