Red led on driver's door ON when driving

Featured Replies

Anyone on the forum experienced this intermittent fault. Car unlocks normally, start up drive off and find that the red led light is on permanently when driving. If I stop get out of car set alarm- light flashes as it should here, then unset, get in and start up again the light is out.Is there a fault somewhere or is it driver error? Looking forward to reading replies. The car is still under the Skoda one year used car warranty so would make a claim if necessary.

You mean the red marker light on the door itself?

If so, could be a faulty micro switch in the door latch assembly.....they are known to be troublesome. Although I would expect other issues too.........door open warning on the dash and alarm problems.

Another possibility is faulty wiring in the flexi loom between the door and the 'A' pillar.

I think he means the red LED alarm light on the top edge of the inner door skin. Should flash when alarm is set and be off when driving. I would say the alarm module is probably faulty.

sorry, yes its the red LED alarm light on the top edge of the inner door skin

The other day I noticed when locking it blinked about 8 times quickly and then stayed on permanently. I had been d1cking about with the sunroof unit and sunglasses holder so got in and had a look and hadn't connected the internal sensor in the back of the sunglasses holder, so it might be worth having a look there.

Mine doesn't come on at all

Could just be a blown LED, does your alarm still work OK?

Haven't tried it. It opens and locks doors.

mine is off when i start the engine and comes on when the car autolocks over 7/8 mph, it stays on untill i take the key out and the doors autounlock then it go's off
