Thermostat

Featured Replies

Just the thermostat. The housing is designed to be taken apart for thermostat replacement.

Well myself would replace the whole unit as you bet your life if you replace just the stat soon after the sender will go and its not a real expensive part.

Do you mean the housing?

Can i ask how you knew your thermostat was faulty?. Did it put a light on the dash or was it diagnosed by a garage?. MPG improve afterweards?. sorry for the questions.

It is fine man! ... We are here to ask and answer questions :) .. Well, my car is taking ages to get up to running temp and when I drive on highways the temp starts to dive ... Your MPG would improve a bit because you would not be wasting as much energy in the cooling system and the engine would be running in its proper clearances ... I hope that answers your questions and if you need more info please say so :)

Hi all, silly question but does that housing assembly include the thermostat and sender?

Also, at the risk of upsetting administrators or others, who are good suppliers for bits for Fabias? ie, if I speak to them, they will then know the car i'm on about and recommend/supply the right parts.

normally I just use eurocarparts as we get a forum discount.

tbh this part has just went on my car as well. I did go outside just to check what needed to be pulled off and its quite a easy job. Pity its so cold outside.

looks like to do the lot its 3 hoses 1 clamp and 2 bolts.

Edit.. Decided to get wet and cold and do it

30 mins of my life its a very easy job. might as well grab 1ltr of coolant as well as you will lose around 2ltr when changing the part (at least I did).
