Fabia horn?

Featured Replies

I am looking for genuine horn for Fabia 1.9 sdi, right now i am looking in ETKA and i see three horns, low tone horn, high tone horn and this horn in the middle? Do they all work together and what is the function of this middle one?

I only have two horns on my car

The function of more than one horn is usually to produce different frequencies on each one. Think of it as a bass guitar, guitar, and a Soprano opera singer all at once. It's quite a different effect to just the bass guitar on its own turned up a bit.

If I was looking to replace the horn I'd be considering aftermarket alternative. I have a Stebel Nautilus compact and Stebel Nautilus full size fitted, but they seem hard to get hold of these days in the UK.

First thing to check if your horn does not work, is that the horn switch is actually working. This can be done using measured thingies in VCDS, or another approach is to check voltage is actually reaching the horn wiring with a multimeter.

Worth bearing in mind the wiring and circuitry on the fabia for the horn is capable of supplying 20 amps as standard, so can power most aftermarket horns without a relay.

Well my horn was working fine but due to idiot who crashed in me it had to be changed and now i have aftermarket one which is not so good as the genuine one. So i am not sure what to look after and what are the prices, i have british prices in my ETKA and it seems that all three horns are nearly 100 pounds.

If they really are £100 (worth a quick phone call to a dealer to check) you should be able to get something seriously mega aftermarket for less that will fit with some creativity. Other option is find out which cars have good loud standard horns and visit a scrap yard.

Good advice it is not worth all that money.

Does anyone have experience with Bosch horns? I found two models, Bosch EC9, nice sound and small and Bosch windotone. I don't like the sound of Stebel NAutilus, but there is one other model that is quite good,TM80.
