Milltek Non Resonated cat-back exhaust. Just for show with standard clutch?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just looking at a Shark remap. For £450 you can get the map and self tuning system and for £750 you can get the exhaust as well.

I'm running everything standard and don't want to get into upgrading clutches etc (too much money) so 165HP is the most I can go.

Is the extra £300 really worth it for me? Had a look around but can't find any answers if you can get the same HP without the exhaust.

Many thanks

You can run a remap to around 170bhp with no need for exhausts, clutches or any other mods.

+1 ^

Stage one map and decat pal

You dont even need an exhaust to run +200bhp

Cool, So its basically just for show then.

Thats saved some cash. Thanks all.

Just need to find out now how Sharks self tuning system compares to actually visiting a workshop.

Not waste your money just get the map!

I have a Piper system - Sounds good, But no performance gain, So IMHO Waste of money!

I actually like the sound of my car when you boot it... Gives a nice rawr noise.

Snap, miss my petrol engine sound, don't miss the mpg though.

Cool, will get the Arb instead then.

I just put a Milltek cat-back on my car..... Wish I hadn't.

Yeah it looks nice, but makes absolutely no sound at all, even when pushed hard you can barely notice a difference.

Should of just welded a new shiny tip on the end and put the money towards something else

Cat or the back box needs removing to get any sound ideally.

I`v had a scorpion cat back which made a decent note when booting it, still had the cat in place too. Then I had a miltek with a sports cat, again made a decent sound. Now I have a Piper with decat, much louder and deeper, sounds great but I`d not say the others were pointless, just a bit more subtle.

I think Piper are awesome! I will be ordering a decat pipe of there's soon to mate it upto my standard cat back & mufflerectomy. Hoping its not too loud.

Imagine it won't be quite, I am going to get a 0 silencer piper cat back after Xmas then depending on how loud it is get a decat downpipe.

I doubt it so long as its not as loud as my old

Fiesta. That registered 112db :D

About as loud as my old focus! Loved it shame the missus and neighbors didn't!

Haha! It was the complaints that led me to selling my car!

Who'd want a fiesta anyway!

Fiesta rs turbo!

Mmm I'm torn between the Milltek exhaust system and the piper system.

From what I have read the milltek is a bit too subtle, both are well made. The piper is cheaper, comes with a choice of tips, and is a bit more larey sounding.

I'd prefer a type R! ;)

Personally I`d rate the build quality of the Piper a bit better than the Milltek. (I have run both)
