Helpful hint to stop water in the engine

Featured Replies

As you are probably all aware there is a lot of water on the roads, and most cars have the air intake for the engine in the nearside passenger wheel arch.

The problem is if you hit particularly deep puddles it can get sucked up into the engine, so to stop this drill a hole in the plastic part of the airbox that connects to the inner wing. This prevents a vacuum building up when the intake is covered by water so it is not drawn into the engine.

WARNING - Don't drill into the top half of the airbox as this bypasses the filter

DISCLAIMER - If you do this mod then drive through a foot of water your on your own matey.
