I wouldn't know, we were led to believe by the skoda person, it was simply built as a "prototype" because they could...

the second pic shows the rear subframe and different rear suspension, driveshaft and diff...

I have a few more pics, a close up of the engine, and some underbody ones, but they don't really show any more....

I think Sam posted the first pic a while back, after you'd just got back.

It was very close to the plans I had for a mkI project before I decided to start with a Citigo intead as it's newer and lighter.

Does that vRS prototype have GTI style tartan seats.

Why oh why didn't they get kept on the production model.

That rear axle is from an Octavia II

yes, they are golf GTI type tartan seats, the interior kinda had a vRS dash, but a 4 spoke wheel, and some chrome trim!

I wouldn't know!

I think we can believe Ross on the rear axle spotting :)

It is nice to see these sorts of cars, that they've started out by just mixing some parts together to see what works

I like the seat in the vRS prototype too - as they appear to have the tartan inlays on the usual Fabia seat design. Thought they might have just plonked some Mk5 seats in but then this would have pre-dated the Mk5 GTi I suppose.

Iirc it has the leather steering wheel from a silverline and also has colour coded air vents with a few other pieces of trim.

So Skoda took a MKI Fabia and basically shoved the running gear and engine from the MKV Golf/Octi platform in!

I WANT!!!!!
