Car insurance... Bell from Admiral

Featured Replies

Its coming up to my renewal and I've been shopping around because Admiral multi car are 'really giving me a good deal and giving me a great discount' even though they aren't the cheapest when looking elsewhere recently.

So I've noticed that Bell from Admiral are really a lot cheaper, in my case around 150 cheaper to the next insurer. Ive read the small print and I've seen that they fit some small box to your car by a 'trained technician' which measures acceleration, braking and cornering. Has anyone got one because i wouldn't mind one but lets be honest, we all like to accelerate a little hard sometimes don't we and apparently they track it and if your a 'good driver' that sticks to the speed limit .. they will knock the price down as the year goes on and if your basically a speeding racing lunatic they will increase your premium?

But what i don't get with that, who's to say I'm not going to just wonder around the road aimlessly and just cut people up at 30mph whilst braking steadily in front of them as i do it? And when going around a roundabout and not telling anybody where I'm going because I've forgotten how an indicator stalk works?

Does anybody have one of these boxes fitted or know of anyone that has one. Or if i get one know anybody who knows how to 'tamper' with them haha.

Heres a link to the video on the homepage which basically explains the crack if anyone cares to look lol ...http://www.bell.co.uk

Thanks.

if any of admirals companies beat their price then they will match it.

Those boxes work by giving you a rating. If your rating goes below a certain level they will charge you an extra premium that month. Its designed to give young drivers cheap insurance and force them to drive better

Yeah admiral said they wouldnt match it which i found strange, but they redid my quote again and its another 70quid cheaper than the bell quote?! i just dont get how insurance companies work lol...well i do but you get what i mean.

its a lottery it really is.

I saw a KA crash yesterday (following it in my octy vrs and he went too quick over a bridge). I thought, if he claims up goes insurance of KA owners near by.

Its stupid things like that because they work on stats
