Sidelights and drl's

Featured Replies

I have only just noticed that when I turn on my sidelights they don't come on!!! Only the drl's dim. The rear lights come on ok but not the fronts. Is this normal?

Yeah on Vrs with drls it's the way it works, I'm sure it can be altered via VCDS if you really want to

Perfectly normal, on the Fl vrs the DRL's are the sidelights the sidelight bulbs in the actual headlight cluster are not wired. Not sure if they can be altered

Does anyone know how to alter this

alter it to do what ? The sidelights in the Vrs headlight unit is not wired.

As above the only reason there are bulbs in there on the vRS is to fill the holes.

The wiring loom on the vRS is different and as such there are no wires from the main loom to each of the W5W bulbs.

As the LED DRL's dim to perform the function of sidelights and parking lights the sidelights in the headlight are redundant.

Thanks for the info guys. I would rather have them on but it is far to much effort to wire them up.

+1.

the only alteration, via vcds, would b to adjust the level of intensity of the DRLs.

i definately do not recommend increasing the "dimmed" brightness level.
