2010 1.6TDI Elegance - Heated Electric Windows.... confused ?

Featured Replies

I work shifts so need my electric windows to heat up on a regular basis.... last night when leaving work at midnight they did not '' de-freeze '' all on the way home..... i note an electric windown symbol at the back of the round switch but i can not seem to be able to switch the round selector to this. I had my rear electric window on but my mirrors just stayed frozen... am i missing something. On my Mk1 Fabia the electric defrost function is engaged from the middle position between the left and right mirrors.... why is the Mk2 not the same.

Mine worked fine have you tried turning it the other way ?

Hi Hudson

The little wheel that you rotate between the left and right mirror to adjust them, turn this anti clockwise past the right mirror position and this should then allow the heater to be turned on.

If you have done this to no effect, then i would suggest that there is an electrical fault, possibly a blown fuse?

Just twist the switch harder, it will move round to where the heated symbol is and then work.

I have twisted the '' knob '' and it does go back (anti clockwise) but it does not sit on the heater sysmbol, it just seems to spin round past.... i will give it a go tonight... i am on until Midnight again. Ta.

It doesn't sit right on the heater symbol for it to work, you just need to turn it that direction (I think the marker sists at about the 9 o'clock position, i.e below the heater symbol) and hey presto should heat the mirrors.

Thanks for that...... just seemed odd that it does not sit where the symbol actually is.... like it does on the Mk1.

Ta.

Mine sits on the symbol, until you move it back.

It's how I know my wife has left the heated mirrors on...

Mine must be faulty then, as it does not click to the symbol just twists round.
