OK, I'm risking sounding like a numptie here but.......... When I bought my Elegance, someone on here told me that only the VRS has an intercooler.

I did think this was a bit odd as my Elegance has an identical engine.

Now, I was crawling around under the car yesterday, looking at my speed-bump-victim front bumper and found what to me, looks like an intercooler behind the grill with a pipe feeding back into the engine bay via the offside front wheel arch.

However, it could perhaps be A/C related.

My 4x4 Elegance has an intercooler, I've seen it when I took the wheel arch liner off the off-side front wheel arch.

All 1.8T's will have an intercooler I think.

Yes, all the 1.8T's have an intercooler located behind the offside side grill.
