Featured Replies

New to the forum and was wondering if any one has had this happen to them on the way home from work drove fine come off roundabout went to put my foot down and wouldnt rev or any power turned it off at traffic lights turned it back on and it was fine no lights come up on dash no weird noises or smells any ideas thanks adam its a 05 plate and its on 49k and been remaped before i bought it .

Turbo overboost putting the car into 'limp' mode is a possibility. The VNT vanes on the turbo get sticky.

i had this recently, pulling away from traffic lights, realized afterwards that i'd put it into third gear instead of first.seems like the ecu sensed this, and cut power and stalled engine? anyway,it's been fine since.

Dodgy MAF sensor?

Search Mr muscle vnt turbo treatment a guide of sorts. It's a thread started by me, follow it and you'll be good to go. If you boot it again likely it will happen again, usually above 3k revs or in 5th and 6th gear under load. The mr muscle treatment solves this

MAP sensor or the wiring for it.

Have had this happen to me, really weird. A fault code only came up after it did this 4 or 5 times.
