CAR PULLING TO THE LEFT. YES I'VE USED THE SEARCH BUTTON :)

Featured Replies

Well as the title says. my car's done it since i owned it really, i've looked and searched the forum and people do seem to have the same problem but from what i've seen noone has come up with a resolution?

Any one have any idea's.... ?

Mine does this too very slightly, I've had my tracking etc done but it still does it.

like wise, it isn't camber of the road of any of that. but sometimes it can pull worse than normal and sometimes be a little. it is something that has annoyed me and i've never bothered. but this morning just made me go i'm fixing this. annoying as hell!

Has your car ever been in any accidents?

also another thing i've thought of, and not since my ownership or anything that should have been recorded. so no idea on the matter for that :/

I doubt its been in an accident mate, its a common fault on the Fabias from reading around.

mine pulls to the right.

its annoying, i've just scrolled through the guide what bas did and it's too complicated for me as i'm no way a trained mechanic lol.

i no it sounds silly but try a small amount off extra air in the left wheel and less in the right wheel it has to be worth a try and it wont cost you anything.

I had this problem earlier this year and like you I searched the forum for hours trying to find an answer.

In the end I took it to Pro Tyre, as I needed new rear tyres anyway, and whilst those were being fitted they also did a full 4 wheel alignment on the car. They also noted that my rear tyres were oddly shaped as if they had been on the front at some point (before I bought the car) and had worn in a weird way. Also, when they fitted the new tyres the front tyres were moved to the rear and the new ones were put on the front.

Now I'm not sure whether it was a combination of new tyres and the alignment but this sorted out the major pull that I had. I still have a slight pull but it's not too noticeable on most roads.

I'll also note that I had non directional tyres on the rear and directional on the front, so this could have also had something to do with the pull I was experiencing.

I hope that helps.

thanks guys, yeh i guess i will try that bill :)

& i do have directional tyres luke, some people have said that ABC servicing in leeds can sort the problem they also do the 4 wheel alignment then what ever magic they do after that god knows! i might get my car booked in for a 4 wheel alignment and see what occurs :)

mine pulls super hard to the left

had alignment checked and apparently i've got a slightly wonky rear axle.

Given there is no adjustment on the back theres no cure (short of changing the whole freaking lot!)

That said i do also have passenger side rear tyre which loses air at a steady rate so is always a bit soft so that doesn't help

I belive the solution was to change the wheels.

I swapped from alloys to steels an this fixed the problem untill i put the alloys back on.

Meaning the problem was either the alloys or the tyres.

Mine pulls to the left a little, when I looked through the service history the preious owner kept throwing it back under warranty to get alignment sorted

I too think the rear axle may be to blame

such a pain in the arse! mine is quite severe pull to the left. :( but mine can be slightly to severe just depends on how it feels. haha. i will be putting new alloys on soon so shall see if this sorts anything :)

I cant remember exactly what it was, but I remember reading something about certain cars naturally pull slightly to the left so when you drift you drift to the left (curb) rather than right (oncoming traffic)..

There is a fix to it. Mine pulled to the left pretty badly and was down to the rear wheels being out of alignment. Had the 4 wheel alignment done but the rears couldn't be done properly due to no real way of correcting the rears. I spoke to the guy about an old vauxhall trick to add camber and toe to the old Novas and corsas with fixed beams. It's basically put back on the alignment machine and a ratchet strap is used to bend the rear hubs and axle back into alignment in small increments. Whether the wheels are strapped to each other whilst on the car to get the camber or the wheel and the rear axle leg are strapped to get the toe in or tie out right. Either way it sorted my alignment out and although all cars slightly pull to the left its now spot on. Hope this helps.

ooo ^ haha nothing like the old manual way :p

mines pulls to the left as I have a slow puncture but when I pump it up its fine, check your tire pressures?

  • Author

already checked mate :( wish it was that easy haha!

Mine pulls to left very badly @ the mo. if i had the space of a football field, it,d do a full circle lol! Back to dealers for warranty work :-(

Well my cv joint is chuffed. This isnt the reason. Gunna get it on 4 wheel alignment asap and ill keep people up to date on my findings (Y)

I have the same problem. Can change lanes on the motorway by itself. Do you run really low? Im running basically all the way down as when i was running higher it never pulled as much. And ive had my tracking done since lowering

  • Author

yeah am low, but this shouldn't cause this. i've had my tracking done also. :(

Ahh im sure i remember reading something ages ago about it being a lowered fabia trait. So much so i expected it when i got the car lol. I also dont know if the left driveshaft being short has anything to do with it?
