Skoda Octavia I 4x4 with VP engine ?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm looking for a 4x4 Skoda Octavia mk1 as a base for some heavy modes I've planned some time ago for my existing car, since I do have most of the stuff already waiting just to be fitted I do have to stick to a VP engine. So the question is what would be the highest model of 4x4 Octavia mk1 with VP engine ? is there a list of the 4x4 models/engine versions anywhere ? The engine doesn't really matters as it will be replaced with BLT from Ibiza + modded ALH head etc. however the wiring has to be for VP and I want it to have ESP air conditioning etc. Any help will be much appreciated.

Have no idea what you mean by VP engine - do you mean PD ?

There was a mk.1 4x4 with a TDI, but don't think many if any made it to the UK

The other engine choice was the 150ps 1.8T ARX 06A series engine

4x4's are all elegance spec, and had ESP as standard (all mk.4 based haldex cars have ESP)

Have air con too

Nah he means VP - or VE as it's more commonly referred to... Of which it's because of the german word "Verteiler" which is German for distributor or divider as it separates 1 fuel line into 4 for distribution of fuel to the injectors.

In answer to your question - the highest VE engine there is is the 110 - and i'm not even sure they made a 4x4 with it.

ok for some reason I wasn't subscribed to this topic and missed all the answers here sorry ;)  VP stands for velocity pump in opposit to PD (this stands for pump duse) and relates to TDI engines. I've finally gave up my VP project and sold pretty much everything but the ported head and bought Octavia mk2 4x4 with 1.9TDI PD engine and I will making some mods soon
