Water Wetter....

Featured Replies

Just a thought - I know some race guys that use this to reduce the running temp of the engine - has anyone used it in a day to day car and noticed any significant improvement -

Probably not such a good idea in a daily, as the running temperature is rarely exceeded, plus the engine needs the full temp to run correctly and efficiently.

On the track a car is gonna want to overheat so its a protection, but a road car even vigorously driven shouldn't use it.

Yeah; a VAG diesel typically runs about 90C unless really pushed on track/up a mountain. Track cars can be found running 110C, which requires 10PSI (relative) to stop it boiling!

I dont know about this car but with a lot of cars you can change the thermostat for a cooler one if you want it to run cooler. Is there a particular reason you want it to run cooler? I think it wont be as efficient.

I've used water wetter for use on track days and normal summer driving and it works very well. It doesn't reduce your ideal running temp of 90 degrees but helps maintain it by being a more efficient than g12 and water coolant. It helped keep my oil temps down on track too by cooling the oil better while it passes through the water cooled oil cooler.

Don't use it in winter as it has no anti freeze capability .

I used it on my other car, i think its ****** and really think of it as just 'reducing heat spots' around the cylinder walls its like putt inga drop of washing up liquid in oil. Its not bad it just doesnt reduce temps per say.

You put in it the coolant or water but i measure temp differences as its negligible.
