This really freaked me when I bought the car.. I assumed it was there.. but when I was driving I felt something was amiss and it was the lack of the left arm rest..

This is very odd.. ?? Anyone else share this view...? Apparently you cannot even have them retro fitted..!

Lower spec Octavia's dont come with the armrest / jumbo box.

Even the latest low spec Octavia's don't get them, you'll need Elegance or above.

It is possible to retrofit but is often cost prohibitive as it includes the ducting to feed the rear seat air vents and the air conditioned jumbo box.

They do come up on Ebay occasionally or from breakers, and if you're not fused about the air to the rear they are relatively simple to fit.

Actually, even with the piping they're still relatively simple.

Mine, with leather armrest pad cost me about £80 delivered, which, bearing in mind it's a £500-off option, wasn't that bad.

Forgot to add that having visited my local Skoda boutique, we did look through the parts computer and the jumbo box was indeed there, available to buy bit by bit at a stupidly high price, so no problems with retrofitting that way except for the cost. My finger in the air guess would be that retrofitting at a dealer including rear ducting but without wiring in the 3.5mm socket would be in the order of £700-£800.
