Alloy refurbishment Q...

Featured Replies

Anybody know of someone that will come and refurbish my alloys at my home, but do a good job, I.e. Take them off and do it, or is it best to do it in factory conditions i.e. book the car in somewhere?

Cheers

These are a National "do it at home" company, I have no idea how good they are & it looks like its a franchised business.

In my experience the wheels are best done with the Tyres off. As well as refurb companies try your local small car bodyshops as most finishes are actually paints sprayed on with a good lacquer over.

Make sure they prepare them well rubbing out any small marks & use the proper primer. Also make sure they put them in the paint oven to harden off & tell who ever refits your tyres that the finishes are fresh.

If you are Hampshire based PM me as "I know a paint shop who can !!"

When I had mine done (through a very good friend in Leicester) the wheels are demounted, shot blasted, repaired, primered, top coat and laquer. Then the tyres are refitted and balanced. Usually costs around
