Monte Carlo Deal Advice

Featured Replies

Afternoon,

Was looking for a little advice on me possibly getting a new 1.2 TSI 105 Monte Carlo. I have a 2009 seat Ibiza 1.6 SC at the moment and I'm the 4th owner and its got 36,500 on the clock.

I'm getting £5200 PX for my car. And it's got £1300 settlement figure on it. I'm adding £300 deposit.

On a new fabia with the deals it's working out £179 a month over 4 years. Does this seem like a good PX price for my Ibiza and do any of you think I could push the dealer down on the cost of the new fabia even though its 0% VAT at the moment?

Also surely the 1.2 TSI isn't plagued with as many oil issues as the 1.4TSI?

I would appreciate anyone's advise on this, being new to the forum and all. Thanks very much.

Not sure of the deal but to be honest even tho there's been issues with oil in respect the vrs I wouldn't worry unduly as most of them are absolutely fine, as for the 1.2 by all accounts its a cracking little engine

I gave the 1.2 TSI a drive, not the car I'm looking as its a second hand car but what a engine. Really impressed. I can understand new modern engines use a little oil but I don't want to be pouring it in every few hundred miles.

Yeah there have been a few issues and the dealers /suk have replaced a few engines and come up with some breather pipe mod sticky plaster thingy, however as I said the issues are small not for the people who have a dud tho, agree the extra grunt that these small blocks give probably does require a little more of the black gold tho

Yeah many thanks for advice. I'm gonna go for it! TSI here I come!

Contacted six dealers up and down the country, before placing our Monte order. Cost to change differed by over 1k between the best and worst deal being offered.

Worth ringing/e-mailing around; Lee at Prestons (site sponsor) and Horton in Lincoln offered by far the best overall deals in my case.

TP

I have the 1.2 TSi engine and its brillaint little thing no rocket but perkey and willing

Ive put about 0.8 of a litre in over a few thousand miles. Which is less then id expect

Glad to say I have put down a deposit. Looking around 2-3 weeks! Just getting a white one. Can't wait!
