Octavia 1 HID Upgrade - Hi Beam Question

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I'm just about to undertake an HID upgrade on my Octavia 1.

The conversion looks failry straightforward, but I have a few questions to ask please...

Before I splash out on the HID kit. Regarding the LO/Hi Beam.

1) Would I be better of buying a D2S , or an H4 Bi Xenon kit as a best bet for my Hi beam?

(The Depo Projector Housing is stamped H2).

2) If I do decide to go with the D2S kit which lamp would I then use for Hi beam?

Thanks in advance for any help...

Do you have Projector headlamps?

If yes, you will want Halogen high beam bulbs, HID's will not warm up quickly enough to provide effective lighting at night. If you have ordinary halogen headlights, Hi/Lo H4 bulbs is what you will need :)

Thanks Phil-W.

I have the Depo lights with D2S Projector, so I will order a D2S HID kit.

I will use Halogens for my Hi beam.

what r these depo lights i keep hearing about?

where are they from ?

any links???

Copies of the original projector headlights, on eBay. One side is about £30, the other is £90 odd.

As Phil-W says. They're cheaper (not as well built, or pricey) replicas of the projector headlamps

available on 'one of those' auction sites.

The price for each unit is never usuallly equal, but right now I can see a pair showing the same price for LH/RH.

Type in 'Octavia Headlamps' and you will see them in the list.
