Main beam alignment and where bearing done?

Featured Replies

Just had the front main beam changed for Philips xtreme bulbs, and the garage that fitted them advised the headlamp adjustment wasn't working, as I had asked them to check it. The main beam pattern seems to be aiming even lower than the dip beam! I'm guessing incorrectly fitted bulbs?

I'd also asked them to check for noisy wheel bearings, they changed the rear pads as they were literally through to the back plates and that this was the source of the noise. But, it's still there, are the rear bearings prone to wear, or could it be something else?

Re the wheel bearing noise, have you checked the rear tyres? As they wear a sawtooth pattern is produced on the inner edge which causes the drone which is very like a wheel bearing.

Why did you have s garage fit them . A lot of garages are muppets and turn them the wrong way. I had an Mot center have to replaced mine as when I had my hids fitted they were turning the wrong way

It's not a rear tyre wear issue, same noise on 2 sets of tyres.

The garage is an mot centre and they fitted them whilst it was being serviced, plus I don't fancy doing it myself in the dark and freezing cold (or p1ssing rain as it is today)

I'm guessing the bulbs are orientated then? Left and right, or just vertically?
