Check the wiring under the seat - carefully though or you might get an airbag surprise.

Had the same thing happen with a Mk5 Golf GT Tdi 170, it was ok on a straight line on flat road but turn a corner and you had to push the buckle down to stop it chiming.Checked the loom coming up from the floor pan and there was no obvious damage so changed the seat buckle and it cured it. The part was about £50 and only took about an hour to fit which included removing the seat.
