central locking issue.

Featured Replies

The car is a fabia 2003 1.4tdi comfort. My wife is having an issue where the back passenger and front drivers door are not unlocking? Also the battery died last week and seems to be struggling a little, maybe a link. Any advice would be greatly accepted.

Thanks

Andy

Hi, I know that if I have that problem it seems to go away with the engine running which would indicate the higher voltage helps. There is a microswitch that can fail causing this problem, its a little switch that gets pressed by the key when you turn it in the drivers door, there is a fair bit of info about it as the same problem occurs with MK4 Golfs as well if I remember right.

It's a pain in the arse to get at though so perhaps get the battery checked out first.
