Has anyone ever used a Mr Clutch? they seem cheap... too cheap.

Considering they qouted me under £300 for a new clutch on the Fabia VRS its making me wonder if they have forgotten to take into account the DMF.

I personally wouldn't assume it was included... at that price I would hazard a guess it isn't

Find a decent VAG indy in your area instead.

I'd expect to pay more than that for the parts alone.

If you can get done supplied and fitted for under £600

then something is wrong with who's doing it.

It's not a good idea to just replace the clutch without doing the DMF as well.

Mr crutch should know that as well. Don't pay the labour twice!

Get it done properly first time around.

I just saw you're in Sturminster Newton; that's Dorset isn't it? Near Bridport, Broadwindsor? < scratch that! If you don't mind an hour or so drive, give Abtech of Totton a call. VAG specialists and did a cracking job with my cam-belt, water pump change and full service, decent price too

it'll be a reconditioned clutch, I put 25k on mine on my 307 and it was fine till i px'd it, it definately wont include the DMF but is your DMF kapput?

ill bet they give you a stringent pop in and get it checked every 2k miles warranty

Not getting the best reviews lol I have a mate who specialises in vag stuff I was just looking for a cheaper alternative. No getting away from it I guess.

If you are wanting a clutch and flywheel change. then specify you want both, no garages change both if you ask for a new clutch.

i used to be a manager at Mr clutch crayford. We were encoraged to not mention the DMF when quoting as your more likely to buy a DMF when we ring you when its stripped.

1 Quote price on screen (not including dmf or CSC)

2 book the job

3 on arrival give it the.. "we will keep you posted to how the jobs going"

4 part way through the job when stripped ring customer.. you need a DMF , gear oil CSC too. Play the, gonna damage ya new clutch if you dont, and it gonna save ya labour if you do it all now

5 take the £300 job to over £1100

The company is a joke. ran by money grabbing ****s that dont give a **** about there customers or staff... have such a good legal support team dont car about anyone taking them to court either. Go else where mate..
