Locking/Unlocking Blip

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if its possible to turn the volume down on the blipping noise when you lock/unlock the car? The blip on the new one is much louder than on my 10 plater, and I cringe when I have to unlock the car early in the morning to go to work

(mind you the neighbour doesn't seem to worry about my sleep when she's arguing with the boyfriend at 3am...)

On or Off only I think. Done through MFD. I can't see a volume function for it in VCDS. Stuff the neighbours!!!

My first vrs was louder and blipped when unlocking and locking, my new one (57plate) is really quiet and only blips on locking, there must be a way to set these up

I did mine on my 2006 plate with vcds. There isn't a volume control. Just a choice of on or off.

I only use beep on lock for my Fabia and Octavia. The former gives a loud beep and the latter a barely audible bip. I suppose that beep on unlock could be useful for locating a car in a busy car park but it would also wake the neighbours when my wife goes to work at 6.45 and that isn't on.

I'd have thought the sound of the door slamming, the engine starting, etc is more likely to disturb the neighbours. Unless other people's Octavias chirp significantly louder than the three I've had/heard, I wouldn't worry.......

Lazy ****** neighbours why wouldn't people be up at that time (Please excuse this if they work night shift [Although if they do they will probably just be getting in])
