Cracking sound behind drivers seat

Featured Replies

Hello to all. I hope someone might be able to help me here. I have a 2011 Octavia mpi. I seem to be getting a cracking sound from just behind the drivers seat when I go over short sharp bumps or cracks in the road. I can't seem to find the cause though. Has anyone else had this problem or knows how to fix this?

Oh yeah forgot to mention when my wife sat behind me, to find where the noise was coming from it was much quiter. Thanks for any heip people and Merry Xmas.

I had an really annoying loud cracking noise which I swore blind was coming from somewhere on the passenger side of the car. Took everything out of door bins etc, to see if I could locate it. Eventually discovered that it was coming from the sunglasses holder. This mightn't help you, just throwing it out there.

Regards, David

Thanks but defo not that. It does sound like metal cracking as if there is a crack or fracture in the cars frame somewhere.

As it's still under warrenty would it be an idea to take it to a main dealer and get them to check it out?

cheers

Ade
