Slight loss of power and lower MPG

Featured Replies

Hello to you all, hope you have had a great Christmas, just after some advise

I have just had my Fabia VRS SE in for its 60k service and the air filter was changed together with the console bushes being replaced with the Cupra ones and 2 new front tyres fitted.

I seem to have lost a little power as normally able to drive at 30mph in 4th gear and accelerate no problem but am finding I am having to change down a gear also on motorway in 6th gear at 50mph could normally accelerate but having a time lag of a few seconds. Average mpg has dropped from 51.8 to 50.4 in 300 miles.

Just been back to garage thinking the turbo pipe may have been knocked, seems to be running a little better but still not right. Could this be because the air filter has been replaced with an OEM one rather than Skoda one?

Your thoughts would be greatly apprecaited

:)

Hi, have the wheels been tracked/Aligned after the bush and trye change?. My mpg has been worse scince having mine done. I know the wheels are balanced but I have booked it in to have the alignment checked tommorow.

Yes had the tracking checked just after it was all done and it was well out, all in line again now.

Let me know how you get on tomorrow, I may need mine checking

Cheers
