What is it I actually need to stop LEDs glowing slightly in a fabia? Is it a capacitor or a diode or a capacitor or what? Are there different resistance ones or will any do the job?

Resistor is what you need. Not sure which rating though.

Don't some LEDs come with the resistor already ?

I thought the canbus ones came with a resistor?
