Help, VRS not starting

Featured Replies

Massive problem!

Had the ECP light come up on the car, ran VAGCOM and came up with

16396 - Bank 1 Camshaft A (intake) Retard setpoint not reached (over-advanced) P0011 - 35-10 Intermittent

16706 - Engine speed sensor (G28) No signal P0322 - 35-00

I checked the forums to find problems, checked relays first and found no immediate problems, so changed camshaft sensor and the P0011 issue went. Drove down the road and the ECP light came back on, stopped the car at home and now it won't start. Plugged back into VAGCOM and a variety of error codes came up mostly relating to shorts across various components, and the G28 sensor.

Has anyone had similar problems? Or any advice on what I can try next? I am kind of stuck with no car and need a quick solution, the gf is happy to drive to get parts.

Many thanks

I'd try the engine speed (crank) sensor, or it's wiring.

That would be my suggestion too

has the car been remapped? who supplied the map and when?

the first suggests a possible combination of timing, fueling, knock sensor, valvetrain.

and your timing belt...

Car hasn't been mapped. Will be checking the g28 sensor today, if that doesn't sort it I will check the belt
