Reversing sensor

Featured Replies

Hi first post so hope I have got things right.

One of my reversing sensors has been pushed in. It looks as if I need to remove the interior boot trim of my 06 Octavia estate to get to it. At either side there is a knob which seems to secure the trim but I cannot get them to budge. Worried about using too much force i.e. with wrench.

Any advice guys?

If the 'knob' you refer to looks like a T-shape, then there is a little flap on the front of it that can be prised off. Under that you will find a torx head to undo. Can't remember what size it is.

On the other hand, if all you need to do is push the sensor back in to place (you'll probably need to glue to mounting bracket though) then you might be able to do that by removing the undertray and working your hand up from underneath without removing any interior trim.

If you do need to remove the rear bumper, here's the instructions:

But before you get to this you will need to remove a lot of interior trim (as you have probably already found out) and that needs to be done in a specific order. I did have a file on this, but can't locate it at the moment. I think I'll have to download another copy from my other computer...

With specific questions, it's generally better to post them in the relevant section as not everyone bothers to read loads of 'Hi, this is me...' threads.

Many thanks KB for both pieces of advice - I will have look 1st thing tomorrow and if I need any more advice I will try a more specific part of the site.

No problem. If I can get the trim removal info for you, I'll post it here (or in your other thread, whichever comes first).

Here you go...

Rear central trim just above bumper and inside boot (dark grey plastic):

Side panels (dark grey plastic) from rear light cluster to rear seats and belts:
